Will Pass is the author of The Second-Smartest Dog That Ever Lived, a philosophical comedy about interspecies friendships, intelligence, and the wild contradictions of domesticated life. It was named among the 2025 Southwest Books of the Year.

 

His second novel, The Whirlpool of Lebanon, is forthcoming September 15, 2026, from Thiessen Press.

Will also runs the Book Jacket Bracket, the world's first book cover tournament, and hosts Who Reads Books Anymore?, a video series in which he asks strangers about their reading lives.
